Mary achieved national certification through the Association of Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP) in 2000. AHVRP is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association. Mary is a certified AHVRP trainer of the “Principles of Volunteer Services Management in a Changing Health Care Environment” course and travels throughout the United States presenting this six-hour, comprehensive overview of volunteer administration best practices.

She has earned AHVRP’s highest professional honor, the 2007 Award for Excellence and the 2017 National Service Award for training excellence. In addition, Mary has earned the AHVRP Program for Professional Achievement Accomplished and Fellow Levels.

In 2004, the Florida Association of Directors of Volunteer Services honored Mary with the Florida Sally Sitta Commitment to Excellence Award.
